Giants of the Wild!

This time around it is the giants of the wild, yes you guessed it Elephants! African elephants are the largest land animals on Earth. They are slightly larger than their Asian cousins and can be identified by their larger ears that look somewhat like the continent of Africa. An elephant's trunk is actually a long nose used for smelling, breathing, trumpeting, drinking, and also for grabbing things—especially a potential meal. The trunk alone contains about 100,000 different muscles. African elephants have two fingerlike features on the end of their trunk that they can use to grab small items. Elephants are from Africa mainly and are herbivores. Elephants grow from 8.6 to 13 feet tell at the shoulder.
I would consider Elephants to be the giants of the wild animals because they are almost 5 times bigger than any other wild animal. Elephants get as big as 5,000lbs to 15,000lbs. They could weigh as much as 5 middle weight cars. The elephant’s big ears do help them keep cool in Africa’s hot climate and also they can use their trunks to pick up things and spray themselves with water to cool them off. Elephants are one of my favorite animals because they are just the most enormous land animal there is. People back in the old days actually rode elephants as transportation. Okay well there is my post on Elephants, they are actually really friendly cool animals.
